Marta Soler-Gallart, is Full Professor and Chair of the Department of Sociology at the University of Barcelona. She is also Director of CREA (Community of Research on Excellence for All). She has served as President of the European Sociological Association (2019-2021), and is currently Vice-President for Publications of the International Sociological Association. She has been at the Governing Board of the European Alliance for Social Sciences and Humanities (2016-2019) and was the first researcher from the Social Sciences at the ORCID Board of Directors (2014-2016). She obtained her PhD from Harvard University in 2001 where she started to work on the analysis of communicative acts in the overcoming of social inequalities. She has been the Main Researcher of the H2020 Project “SOLIDUS” on the analysis of solidarity acts during the crisis in Europe, and is in the coordination of the Horizon Europe project “REVERS-ED” on reversing educational inequalities, among many other projects under the Framework Programme of Research of the European Commission. Among her publications highlight the book "Achieving Social Impact. Sociology in the public sphere" (Springer).
