Mariam KHOTENASHVILI

Mariam Khotenashvili is the Executive Director of the Trans European Policy Studies Association (TEPSA) – the first trans-European research network on EU affairs. She oversees the overall functioning and strategic development of the Association and its Secretariat. Mariam represents TEPSA vis-à-vis the EU institutions, national governments, the think-tank community, and other partners. She works to increase the visibility of TEPSA’s research and bridge the gap between academic knowledge and policy-making. Mariam also hosts TEPSA’s flagship video series, EuropeChats.

Her background combines policy advocacy, research coordination, project management, and academic work. She specializes in the EU’s Enlargement and Foreign Policies and has written extensively on Russia’s war against Europe and the EU’s response. She has delivered guest lectures at institutions such as the London School of Economics and the College of Europe.

Mariam holds Master’s degrees in EU International Relations and Diplomacy (College of Europe) and in Conflict Studies and Human Rights (Utrecht University). Before joining TEPSA in 2016, she worked with Transparency International Georgia and ALDA – The European Association for Local Democracy, and completed traineeships at the European Commission (DG DEVCO) and the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights
