Christophe HILLION

Christophe Hillion is professor of law at the University of Oslo. He has served as research professor at the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs, researcher at the Swedish Institute for European Policy Studies, and held academic positions at Leiden University, the University of Cambridge, University College London, the University of Stockholm, and the College of Europe.

His research focuses on the constitutional law and external action of the European Union. He currently co-coordinates the ENROL research project, financed by the Norwegian Research Council, which examines how the EU can respond to internal rule-of-law backsliding.  
His recent work has also explored the restoration of democracy within the EU, the constitutional implications of EU enlargement and the EU’s relationships with neighbouring countries, including Norway, Ukraine and the United Kingdom.
