Visit of Jakov Milatović, President of Montenegro, to Bruges

On 15 October 2025, we had the pleasure of welcoming Mr Jakov MILATOVIĆ, President of Montenegro, for an engaging address and discussion on Montenegro’s European path and the future of EU enlargement.

In his remarks, President Milatović emphasized that “we are part of the same geopolitical and security architecture,” underlining the importance of keeping enlargement at the core of the European Union agenda. He also announced the launch of the EU Academy – an educational platform aimed at connecting Montenegro’s younger generations with the institutions of the European Union.

Speaking to our students, President Milatović shared Montenegro’s clear ambition to become the 28th EU Member State by 2028, reaffirming the country’s strong commitment to European values, regional cooperation, and good neighborly relations – the very foundations of the European project.

We extend our sincere thanks to President Milatović for his visit and for reminding our community that the European future is built on dialogue, determination, and a shared vision for peace and prosperity.
