Prevention Advisor (50% FTE) - College of Europe in Bruges

The College of Europe in Bruges, the oldest postgraduate institute of European Studies founded in 1949, is seeking a prevention advisor on a part-time basis (50% FTE, 19h/week). The ideal candidate will have the qualification of ‘prevention advisor level 2’, and will be responsible for overseeing all health and safety matters related to work and life on campus, where approximately 340 Master’s students study and live each year.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Tasks and oversight related to the internal prevention service in accordance with Belgian law;
  • Secretariat of the CPBW (“Health and Safety Committee”) as well as the preparation and follow-up of all files;
  • Preparation and follow up on inspections and external maintenance with the technical service;
  • Control of HACCP standards related to the canteen/catering (e.g., surface, hand and temperature control).

Candidate requirements:

  • Interest and experience in technical matters related to prevention, protection, health and safety;
  • Certificate prevention advisor level 2 (or willingness to obtain this qualification);
  • Capacity to work independently and as part of a team (collaboration with technical service and members of the CPBW);
  • Attention to detail in all aspects of quality control;
  • Fluency in Dutch; intermediate proficiency in English;
  • Personality: cooperative, hands-on mentality, problem solving, initiator, independent, flexible, accurate and alert.
