Opening Ceremony of the Promotion Jacques Delors 2024/2025, Bruges campus

The Opening Ceremony of the Promotion Jacques Delors 2024/2025 of the College of Europe – Bruges campus took place on Monday, October 28, 2024, at 14:30 in the Bruges Concert Hall at ‘t Zand.

We were pleased to welcome Ms Ursula VON DER LEYEN, President of the European Commission, as our keynote speaker. 

Mr Dirk DE FAUW, Mayor of Bruges, Mr Herman VAN ROMPUY, President of the Administrative Council of the College of Europe, Rector Federica MOGHERINI, Vice-Rector Ewa OSNIECKA-TAMECKA, and Students’ Representatives Louis ACCOU, Charline DOS REIS BARREIRA and Silvia MÁRQUEZ THIBAUT also took the stage to share their insights and welcome the new cohort of students.

In her powerful address, President von der Leyen reminded our students, “You are not only studying the Europe of yesterday and today. You are preparing to build the Europe of tomorrow.”

As we welcome this new generation of European changemakers, we look forward to seeing how their ideas and fresh perspectives will impact Europe’s future, beginning right here on our campus.
