Natolin Students Explore Human Rights Monitoring During Visit to OSCE/ODIHR in Warsaw
As part of the Natolin Migration and Human Rights Nest activities, students had the opportunity to visit the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Warsaw.
The visit provided an in-depth look into the world of human rights monitoring. ODIHR officials Mr Johannes HEILER, Mr Aleksandar SEKULIĆ, and Ms Zala ČAS introduced students to key methodologies and principles guiding their work, offering first-hand insight into how human rights are observed and reported across diverse contexts.
An interactive group exercise enriched the experience, featuring selected episodes from Starlight Stadium, a serious game developed by FreedomLab. Designed to train human rights defenders, the game allowed students to simulate a human rights investigation and gain a practical understanding of the tools and challenges involved in defending fundamental rights.
The Natolin community extends its sincere thanks to ODIHR for the warm welcome and the valuable learning opportunity.
