Visit of Xavier Bettel, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, to Bruges

On Monday, February 24th, 2025, we were honored to receive Mr Xavier BETTEL, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

On the 3rd anniversary of Russia’s brutal invasion of Ukraine, he delivered an inspiring address, reminding our students of the importance of protecting our values:

“I was born in Luxembourg. I was lucky to grow up in peace, in the middle of Europe, in a country that was open-minded, where I was able to be elected Prime Minister as being gay. But we cannot take anything for granted. Everything we take for granted is on a thread. Fight for the values you believe in!”.

We are very grateful that he took the time to exchange with our Luxembourgish students and the participants of the European Union Diplomatic Academy and the European Union Diplomatic Programme for the Enlargement Region.
