Panel Discussion: "The Future of the Transatlantic Digital Economy"

On Wednesday, April 9th, 2025, we welcomed back three brilliant alumnae for a high-level panel discussion on the future of the transatlantic digital economy!
Beatrice FLAMMINI, Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs at NBC Universal Media, Victoria SARMIENTO HERRERO, Government Affairs Specialist at Microsoft, and Marianna SHARF, Senior Director, Head of EU Public Policy at Netflix – all graduates of the College of Europe – returned to our Bruges campus to exchange ideas with our students on innovation, competitiveness, and the future of the EU-US digital dialogue.
In conversation with Professor Michele CHANG, Director of the Transatlantic Affairs Programme, and Rector Federica MOGHERINI, they reflected on their experiences working across EU and US regulatory landscapes, the challenges of operating between Brussels and Silicon Valley, and what it takes to drive change from within some of the world’s biggest digital players!
We warmly thank our MATA team and Professor Chang for bringing this dynamic exchange to campus, as well as Commissioner Henna VIRKKUNEN for participating in the conversation with her thoughtful address to our students!
