Natolin community mourns the passing of Prof. David ABULAFIA
It is with great sadness that the Natolin community has learnt about the sudden loss of Professor David ABULAFIA, a member of our Flying Faculty and Emeritus Professor of Mediterranean History at the University of Cambridge (Gonville & Caius College).
We mourn not only a great specialist, but also an exceptional person.
Professor Abulafia joined Natolin in the academic year 2017-2018. For eight years, he taught a course Maritime History: the Mediterranean and Other Seas, where he shared his immense knowledge with our students. We will remember Prof. Abulafia for his professionalism, genuine care and kindness towards students which he showed when he supervised the work of many of our alumni on their master’s theses.
Professor Abulafia’s legacy thus survives within the community of Natolin’s alumni but also for future generations of our students through his contributions to academic research evidenced by the books which we keep in our Library:
