Synopsis

This 18th edition of the ‘Jahrbuch des Föderalismus’ (Federalism Yearbook) has been conceived as a wide-ranging compendium that provides its readers with an up-to-date overview of various aspects of federal and regional structures and politics. In total, it contains 40 contributions, for example on its main subject of fiscal relations reform in Germany and on issues of current interest in federalism research (digitalisation, domestic security, migration and the federal education system). Reports on European countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Great Britain, Italy, Austria, Spain, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Russia and Switzerland), on non-European countries (India and Canada), contributions on regional and municipal cooperation in Europe (such as a comparison of the Euro-districts), on the EU and European integration (such as that on the structural policy within the EU’s new financial framework) and a contribution by Malu Dreyer complete the yearbook.
