High-level Discussion: “Greece’s role in the EU’s southeastern external periphery and its contribution to the development of a European defence arm”

On Wednesday, April 9th, 2025, we hosted a remarkable conversation on European defense at our Bruges campus to explore the future of the continent’s security architecture.
The event was organized by the students of the Hellenic Society, who welcomed Mr. Nikolaos DENDIAS, Minister for National Defence of the Hellenic Republic, for an engaging exchange with Mr. Constantinos FILIS, Director of the ACG Institute of Global Affairs and Professor at the American College of Greece.
With opening remarks by Rector Federica MOGHERINI, the event provided an in-depth examination of Greece’s role in the EU’s southeastern external periphery and the country’s contribution to the development of a European defense arm.
Congratulations to our Hellenic Society for bringing Mediterranean perspectives to the forefront of this important conversation on the future of EU security and defense.
