La Chaire de la Politique européenne de voisinage mène des recherches sur la politique étrangère et de sécurité de l’Union européenne et des États membres de l’UE vis-à-vis du voisinage (élargi) de l’UE – à l’Est et au Sud – avec une attention particulière sur la transposition des normes, valeurs, règles et règlements de l’UE ainsi que sur la gestion des conflits, et travaille également sur la transition politique et économique et les conflits dans les 16 voisins de l’UE.
Les projets de recherches actuels et passés ont traité du droit et des politiques d’association dans le contexte de la Politique européenne de voisinage de l’UE et de son Partenariat oriental respectivement, son impact sur les pays partenaires du voisinage, la promotion par l’UE de la démocratie et des droits de l’homme, le respect par les voisins des normes et règles de l’UE, la gouvernance de l’UE et des États membres en matière de migration, le discours des relations extérieures de l’UE, le tournant de la résilience dans la politique étrangère de l’UE, les politiques de reconnaissance dans le voisinage de l’UE, les politiques de désinformation en Europe de l’Est, les réformes politiques et les changements de régime en Europe de l’Est et dans le Sud de la Méditerranée.
