Field Visit: WB Group | Digital Transformation Nest
The Digital Transformation Nest of the College of Europe in Natolin organised a field trip for the students to WB Group, one of Europe’s largest private defence contractors.
During the visit, students gained insights into the wide range of activities carried out by WB Group and its subsidiaries, including the development of military communications equipment, command and control systems, fire-control systems, unmanned aerial vehicles, and loitering munitions.

The visit also offered an opportunity for in-depth discussions with WB Group officials, focusing on how digital technologies are reshaping both the defence industry and the modern battlefield. Particular attention was given to the growing role of artificial intelligence, highlighting its impact on defence innovation, operational effectiveness, and future security challenges.
It also provided students with valuable, first-hand exposure to the intersection of digital transformation, emerging technologies, and European defence capabilities.
