Excellent performance of diplomacy students at the Model United Nations in London

On 21-23 February 2025, a multinational group of 12 students from the Department of EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies represented the College of Europe with great success at the 26th edition of the London International Model United Nations Conference (LIMUN). Several months of preparation for this activity, with the active support by two Academic Assistants, resulted in a first-rate performance by the students who were involved in researching different topics, drafting position papers, working documents and resolutions as well as engaging in negotiations with other delegates from across the world on the premises of King’s College London.

Arthur CALOZET (BE) was officially lauded with the Diplomacy Award received for representing France in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Committee. The College’s student delegation also included Alice ISCAR (FR/BR) representing Guinea-Bissau at the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women, Georgios Ioannis ILKOS (GR) representing Brazil at the International Monetary Fund, Irene PADILLA NIETO (ES) and Raphaël SAHRAOUI (FR) representing together the United States of America at the United Nations Security Council, Liam MARIOTTI (IT/IE) and Pol KOOPMAN (NL) representing together the Empire of Austria at the Historical Negotiation Committee, Molka BEN ARAB (TN) representing Romania at the European Council, Niall BEGLEY (IE) representing Canada at the United Nations Economic and Social Council, Scarlett MILNER-STOPPS (UK) representing Libya at the African Union, and Thibault CHRISTELER (FR) representing Denmark at the United Nations Conference on International Organization. All students made a remarkable impression, also thanks to the great team spirit during the whole endeavour.
