From 5 to 9 March 2013, the EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies Programme organised a study trip to Geneva, Switzerland. Geneva is the European centre for multilateral diplomacy and home, among other organisations, to the European seat of the United Nations, the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and the International Committee of the Red Cross. The European Union is represented by a Permanent Mission to the WTO and a Permanent Delegation to the United Nations Office and other international organisations. The department organised not only visits to all these institutions, including lectures by high level speakers, but also informal events in which students could meet alumni from the College of Europe who are based in Geneva and discover Swiss culture.
