On Wednesday 11 November 2015, Mr Alessandro CARANO spoke on "The Investment Plan for Europe: how to restart EU's economic growth via investment recovery".
Mr CARANO is Adviser to the Deputy Director-General of the European Commission Directorate for Economic and Financial Affairs, seconded by the European Investment Bank (EIB). He works on the Investment Plan for Europe and the European Fund for Strategic Investment. He was previously Managerial Adviser and Head of Unit at the European Investment Bank (EIB), responsible for the institutional relationship with EU Institutions and other international financial institutions on policies and activities outside the EU. He led the negotiations on the new EIB External Lending Mandate for the period 2014-2020, allowing up to EUR 30bn in EIB financing in support of EU external action. EIB on investment plan for Europe
Mr CARANO addressed the audience in the framework of the lecture series on how economics makes a difference to policy and business. The event was organized by the College of Europe's Department of European Economic Studies.
