'Competitiveness of the European Railways’ is the title of the 49th edition of a postgraduate course for railway staff organized by the European Training Centre for Railway staff (ETCR) in co-operation with the College of Europe. It took place from 4 till 15 July in Bruges.
Professors of the College of Europe, EU officials and representatives from international transport organisations spoke about European railway reform, the latest trends in transport as well economic, environmental and safety issues. The programme also included visits to the European institutions and the Port of Antwerp.
Among the 35 participants were lawyers, engineers, economists and other staff from key railway institutions and companies from 12 different countries.
The project is part of a long-term partnership between the College of Europe and the ETCR.
