ETI Department Annual Conference 2026

Academics, diplomats, students, NGOs, youth, and public institution representatives came together for the conference “Strategic Autonomy Under Pressure: Can the European Union Enlarge in Times of Internal Transformation?”
Congratulations to our ETI department for organising a valuable conference addressing the strategic importance of EU enlargement to the Western Balkans and the challenges it faces in times of internal EU transformation and overlapping crises.

Our Acting Rector, Ewa Osniecka-Tamecka, and the Director of Studies, Igor Vidačak, delivered opening remarks on the EU’s strategic autonomy, the enlargement path of the Western Balkans, and the importance of bringing researchers and professionals together under the roof of the College of Europe. The panellists brought valuable expertise from both academic and youth perspectives.
