Closing Ceremony of the Madeleine Albright Promotion 2023/2024, Bruges Campus

The Closing Ceremony of the Madeleine Albright Promotion 2023/2024 of the College of Europe - Bruges Campus took place on Friday, June 21, 2024, at 14:30, in the Bruges Concert Hall at ‘t Zand.

We were delighted to welcome Frank-Walter STEINMEIER, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, as a keynote speaker. Mr. Steinmeier delivered a powerful address to our students, emphasizing the importance of European unity and the role of young generations in shaping our common future and identity.

Herman VAN ROMPUY, President of the Administrative Council of the College of Europe, Dirk DE FAUW, Mayor of the City of Bruges, Carl DECALUWE, Governor of the Province of West-Flanders, and Rector Federica MOGHERINI took the stage as well to bid farewell to the students and wish them success in their upcoming journeys. 

During the ceremony, the students entertained the audience with several musical performances, while the Bruges Choir of the Madeleine Albright Promotion took the stage for the last time, singing the European Anthem – the Ode to Joy by Ludwig van Beethoven.

The Student Representatives, Manon VIVIER-MERLE, Charlie WATSON, Ghizlan REBBAH, Tasifan MOHAMMAD, and Bettina JAMES also delivered farewell speeches. They congratulated the entire Promotion and the administration for this memorable academic year.

Several prizes were finally awarded by the College’s Directors of Studies to the top-performing students in each department, as well as to those who authored the best theses.
