European Neighbourhood Policy Chair

The European Neighbourhood Policy Chair works on the EU’s multi-layered relations with its eastern and southern neighbours, as well as on intra-neighbourhood dynamics as such, rooted in the understanding that the EU and its neighbourhoods are mutually constitutive.

The European Neighbourhood Policy Chair works on the many dimensions of the European Union’s European Neighbourhood Policy towards the EU’s eastern and southern neighbourhood. This is complemented by the study of EU neighbours’ political, socio-economic and security-related developments mainly through the prism of Political Science, International Relations, Area Studies and EU External Relations Law.

The mission of the Chair is to engage in and encourage reflection on EU and EU member states' foreign policies – broadly conceived – towards Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus, and the Middle East and North Africa and contribute to greater familiarization with these surrounding regions and the many challenges they face on a local, national and regional level.
