The Capacity Building Office of the College of Europe in Natolin was pleased to organise a training course on "Conflict Prevention and Crisis Management", delivered in cooperation with the OSCE Conflict Prevention Centre.
This two-day training aimed to equip our students with a solid understanding of the OSCE conflict cycle and practical early warning tools.

Day 1 covered the OSCE’s comprehensive security approach, the stages of the conflict cycle, and CPC (Conflict Prevention Centre) methodologies such as horizon scanning, field reporting, and gender- and youth-sensitive indicators. Participants were engaged in exercises to identify early warning signals and translate them into political and operational responses.
Day 2 applied this knowledge in a simulation exercise (SIMEX), during which participants detected warning signs, propose responses, navigate crisis escalation, and reflect on decision-making, inclusivity, and sustained engagement. By the end of the training, participants gained hands-on experience in conflict analysis, preventive action, negotiation, dialogue, and coalition-building, with particular attention to the roles of women and youth in conflict prevention.
