European Neighbourhood Days: High Level Ambassadorial Talk on "Advancing the EU-Armenia Partnership Agenda: Strengthening Ties Through Common Interests and Shared Values"

The European Neighbourhood Chair of the College of Europe in Natolin was pleased to organise a high-level ambassadorial talk titled "Advancing the EU-Armenia Partnership Agenda: Strengthening Ties Through Common Interests and Shared Values" with Mr Vassilis MARAGOS, EU Ambassador to Armenia.

This was the second event in the spring series of European Neighbourhood Days. The EU Ambassador to Armenia delivered a lecture, which was followed by a Q&A session.

The event was moderated by Dr Patrycja SASNAL, Senior Professional Fellow at the European Neighbourhood Chair.

About the speaker:

Mr Vassilis MARAGOS has taken up his post as EU Ambassador to Armenia in September 2023.

He started his career in EU institutions in the 1990s. He has held senior positions in the European Commission Delegations in Bulgaria and North Macedonia as well as in the European Commission's Directorate-General for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations in Brussels. His last post prior to taking up his position in Armenia was Head of Unit for Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina (09/2021 - 08/2023). He has also served as Head of Unit (2015-2021) and acting director (2015) responsible for aspects of the EU’s Eastern Partnership policy, including bilateral cooperation with Armenia.

Mr MARAGOS has studied law and international relations and holds a PhD in political science; he has also researched and published notably on the Enlightenment and the formation of national identities in South-East Europe.
